8-Week student training in English:
Performance pressure, high expectations, perfectionism, social media, worries, tensions, financial pressure: all factors that can cause stress and can have a negative effect on our mental health. To some extent, stress and performance pressure are part of studying. A little pressure as a motivator often works great, but when you experience stress problems and you get stuck, it is a different story.
Mental fitness can be trained. One way to do that is by developing mindfulness: living with attention. Attention for what is happening right here right now. If your attention is in the present moment, you are no longer worrying about tomorrow or yesterday. Then it may just be that the problems you had suddenly appear in a different light.
In 8 meetings of 1.5 hours you will learn the ins and outs of mindfulness: how it works, why it works and how to do it. Besides the common lessons you practice 30 to 60 minutes a day with what you’ve learned. Other than comfortable clothes, you don’t need anything special. No special environment, no special tools or attributes. During the lessons we do meditation meditation and movement exercises, exchange experiences and get feedback, a little background theory.
The goal of the course is to make you more aware of yourself and to increase your resilience. You will learn skills that help you enjoy yourself and life more and at the same time it will help you deal differently with automatisms and habits that get in your way.
Dates and times:
Nov 20, 27 | Dec 4, 11, 18| Jan 8, 15, 22
16:00 – 17:30

This training is for ACLO members only, free of charge
